What were your thoughts last time you saw a roll off container leave your facility full of dirty filter bags? Was it, “Wow, there goes a lot of money into the trash”? Or, was the question, “How can I reuse those filters so they don’t take up a bunch of landfill space?”
In either case there is an answer. Clean your filters with Dust Filter Shop.
Asphalt Plant Filters
Dust Filter Shop specializes in cleaning filter bags for the asphalt industry. Most facilities use 400 to 600 filter bags in their collectors. Nomex or Arimid filter bags are very expensive. High heat Filter bags range from $20.00 to $60.00 each depending on the manufacturer’s requirements. Dollars add up very quick with the large quantities required to run an asphalt plant. Natural gas plants do not require filter change outs as often, but when you are running fuel oil,or waste oil the hydrocarbons will build up very quickly on the bag filter restricting the air flow and lowering the tonnage output of the plant. The second biggest reason an asphalt plant sends in filter bags in for cleaning is the “new guy” did not follow the startup procedures, and blinded the bags. On a number of occasions Dust Filter Shop has cleaned a set of filter bags for the plant manufacturer. The filters had been blinded during a new plant set up and Dust Filter Shop was called in to recondition the filter bags.
It is smart to check the airflow and material strength of your filters during the winter shutdown. The airflow and filter bag weight will give you a good idea if your filter bags will last another season. Dust Filter Shopoffers this service at no cost. We suggest that a filter bag is removed from five different locations in the baghouse. This will help you spot any problem areas prior to the busy season. We will do lab testing on each filter prior to reconditioning the bag filter and compare the results to: a) the filter after reconditioning and b) new filter specifications. The material strength is tested using one of two methods. The most accurate method uses a Mullen burst machine which will test the filter bags strength in PSI. The Mullen burst test is a destructive test. Please remember to tell us which testing method you want us to conduct.Contact a Dust Filter Shop team member to schedule your lab testing of your filter bags.
